Istanbul Classic Tour ( L )

We pick you up from your hotel in the morning then we begin our tour from the Sultanahmet region,the heart of Old City Istanbul where the Byzantine and Ottoman Empires were ruled.

Ayasofya, one of the marvels of the world architecture, built by Emperor Justinian in the early 6th century AD. Its massive dome still dominates the skyline of Istanbul.It is also famed for its mosaics, including glittering portraits of emperors and empresses and a poignant Virgin and Child.Today Aya Sofia is one of the best museums in the world.

Blue Mosque, takes its name from the exquisite tiles adorning its interior.Built by Sultan Ahmet I between the years 1609 and 1616,  was located in a large scale complex which included social and cultural structures such as a bazaar, a bath, a cookhouse, a hospital, schools.It is the only imperial mosque with six minarets. It was designed by a pupil of the famous architect Sinan.

Hippodrome, centre of sportive events and political activities of the old city. The Serpentine Column, German Fountain of Wilhelm II, The Obelisk of Theodosius and The German Fountain are the monuments decorating the Hippodrome.

Grand Bazaar, was the commercial heart of the old city Istanbul and its 4000 shops are full of treasures including carpets, antiques, leather, icons, ceramics and jewellery.

Topkapı Palace:The great palace was the principal residence of the Ottoman Sultans for nearly 400 years.The Palace is now a museum and houses fabulous  Imperial Treasury, Baghdad Kiosk, Spoonmaker's Diamond, Chinese Celadon Ceramics, Imperial armory, costumes.

Süleymaniye Mosque, is the largest and grandest of Istanbul's imperial mosques. It dates from the 16th century heyday of the Ottoman Empire, and was designed by famous architect Sinan.

The dome of the mosque, which is situated on four elephant feet, is 53 metres high and it has a diameter of 26,5 meters.It has four minarets.

Rüstem Pasha Mosque, another masterpiece by Sinan that has the most exquisite and extensive Iznik tile decoration of any mosque in Istanbul.

The big dome in the middle is supported by four demi domes.The arches of the big dome, which has 24 windows, are supported by eight octagonal elephant feet. The altar and the pulpit are made of marble. The main hall has six pillars and five domes.
